What is Backbone?
Backbone transforms your mobile into a mind-blowing new gaming experience. Just snap your phone into the Backbone One controller, launch the Backbone App, and start playing your favorite mobile, console, or PC games from anywhere, in seconds.
Which mobile devices are compatible?
Compatible with iPhone models that have a Lightning connector. Adapter included for enhanced experience on iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Please note this Backbone device is not compatible with the new iPhone 15 Series. Please use the Backbone USB-C device for the iPhone 15 Series.
Due to the larger camera bump, a complimentary adapter is included with every purchase of a Backbone One for a snugger fit with iPhone 14 series, 13 Pro & 13 Pro Max models.
Can I use Backbone with PS Remote Play?
Absolutely. Play your favorite games on PS5 and PS4 consoles, pause the action and switch to Backbone without being tied to the TV. With PS Remote Play, launch games installed on your PlayStation® from your phone, from virtually anywhere in the world.

Does Backbone require a subscription?
The Backbone app aggregates your content library and game streaming services into a streamlined user experience but is not required for the Backbone One to work with controller supported games.
Backbone+ Subscription Trial Included: Unlock 20+ app features, perks & in-game rewards. If you don't redeem your free trial, or decide not to subscribe, the app will still automatically install new software updates to the device to help maintain compatibility with future versions of operating systems and features to manage the controller.
Can I use Backbone with my PC?
Yes. You can use your Backbone with other devices like iPad, Mac, and PC to play your favorite games and services, using Backbone’s Play on Any Screen feature.
Simply connect your Backbone to your chosen device using a MFi-certified USB cable (MFi is required for iPhone) that connects to the Backbone charging port and your device.
Do I need to charge Backbone?
No, Backbone One does not have a battery! Backbone One draws minimal amounts of power from your phone. Its power consumption is imperceptibly low. The degree of Backbone One’s power consumption is so trivial that you could leave Backbone One plugged into your phone overnight without any discernible change in your phone's battery life.
That being said, games running on your phone can consume considerable amounts of power due to things like graphics, networking, and audio. Therefore, recognizing that battery life is critical to gaming on mobile devices, we’ve designed a pass-through Lightning port on the Backbone One to allow for charging your phone while playing.
